This student (student A) looks Chinese. In mind, i was thinking that how nice he is because he is a Chinese and yet concern about his friend's faith. And then, we talked a little bit more then i realized that he is not a non-Muslim. He is a Muslim. His parents converted to Islam and he is actually from China. (credit goes to him as he is able to speak Malay, quite well). Feeling that he was really worried about his friend and i myself was also thinking on how can I approach this daring student, i managed to get his student ID and name, of course. (my next action would be investigating his profiles first before calling his parents, to know their background). I comforted this student and said that i will take any possibly action on this matter. Again, he looked so serious and worried. When he was about to leave my place (my not too privacy cubicle), he said "Miss, please do something about this". I nodded and smiled.
The student (yang berkata dia tak percaya tuhan) named Huzaifah (bukan nama sebenar) telah ku jumpai. (bukan jumpa orangnya tapi profile nya). Shockingly, it was stated 'spastic student' in hsi profile. Ha???? Spastic? Macam mana seorang spastic boleh masuk ke program A-Level? Okay bertenang.... i then checked with Grenall (another lecturer) who is teaching Maths for this group and Jaya (the one who counceled his parents). He is not a spastic child, but autistic. Now i understand why he was boldly claimed that he doesn't believe in God. Dia sakit.
Few days later, i bumped into the student A and told him about his friend, Huzaifah. Surprisingly, he was not really satisfied with my explanation and i could see from his face expression that he wanted me to talk directly to Huzaifah and take him back to Islam. I think he did not understand what autism is. Or maybe i was the one who don't understand? In my view, i would say that this student (let's call student B) is not aware of what he is talking about. Even in class one could see him behaving like a child, sitting far away from other people at the corner of the class and keep calling his teacher when asking for an answer. It is not normal. (and also, i'm not to reveal his SPM result in here, but how could he be accepted to the program with such a result if he is a normal student?). Okay settled. Don't have to call his parents to get detail as i myself could understand the situation.
Pertaining to my reaction of terkejut or takut....
- Definitely sesiapa sahaja akan terkejut sekiranya mendengar seseorang telah murtad (or commit apostasy) or become an apostate, secara live.
- Obviously saya takut sebab in this case, the responsibility is on me (no one else in the college, officially). Because, it's my duty to take him back to Islam (if he is really do).
